Tapestry and DS2 Team Wins Major U.S Air Force Contract; Pledges to Create New Technology Jobs in Okaloosa County

Okaloosa County, Fla.  (May 31, 2019) – Dynamic Software Solutions (DS2), located in Niceville, Fla., and prime contractor partner, Tapestry Solutions, Inc., a Boeing company, were awarded a Weapon Planning Software (WPS) contract by the Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate - Eglin Air Force Base.

The 10-year WPS program supports Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) requirements related to precision-guided munitions planning for numerous aircraft and weapons platforms. The contract has a total ceiling value of $259 million.

DS2 is currently located in Merchants Walk at Bluewater Bay. DS2 and Tapestry will be expanding its operations for this contract from the company’s newest location just outside of Eglin Air Force Base, located at 310 Government Ave.  The newly refurbished facility offers proximity to Eglin Air Force Base and includes 5,000 square feet for office and development labs.

The team will provide software development, legacy enhancements, formal qualification testing, and engineering support to the WPS program. The companies anticipate adding a significant number of local jobs as a result of the award, with up to 30 or more personnel.

DS2 – a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business – intends to hire and train locally, and serve as the go-to small business for agile software development on the Emerald Coast, according to Joe Staton, the company’s CEO.

“We are very excited about our first local contract supporting the Mission Planning community,” Staton said. “Not only will the WPS contract offer tremendous value to our nation’s military and the munitions enterprise in particular, but will also generate significant economic benefit for Okaloosa County.”

"We welcome the expansion of DS2 in Okaloosa County. The high quality jobs in the area will be a valuable asset. More so the weapons capability and advancement will strengthen and lend to the American position of peace through strength. Thank you for what you do and “Welcome Aboard," said Commissioner Kelly Windes, Chairman, Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners.

"We are thrilled that DS2 has decided to expand into Niceville. New jobs in our community are always a reason to celebrate," said Mayor Randall Wise, City of Niceville.

“By winning this highly-competitive contract, expanding into their second Okaloosa County location, and committing to create dozens of technology jobs in the local area, DS2 is serving notice that they are a significant player in the agile software development sector.  We couldn’t be more pleased to call them a partner,” said Nathan Sparks, Executive Director, Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County.
