Okaloosa County’s Economic
Development Council held a roundtable discussion
Wednesday at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort that focused on
the economic impact of the 2005 BRAC decision. More than 200
business and community leaders from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa
counties were given a status update on the incoming F-35
Joint Strike Fighter and the 7th Special Forces.

(EDC) has been awarded a grant to support training programs
for its Technology Coast Manufacturing and
Engineering Network, TeCMEN.

In 2005, the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County
commissioned the University of West Florida’s Haas Center
for Business Research and Economic Development to study the
economic and population impacts of the arrival of 107 F-35s.
The analysis was updated in 2007.
